Getting set up
ERP setup varies by platform, and an ERP often touches inventory, accounting, and fulfilment at once. Sync timing and which edits are supported depend on how your ERP connects to Shopify. You don't need to figure it out alone.
⚠️ Talk to us first: Reach out via the live chat before you go live or make changes. We'll recommend the right setup, coordinate with your ERP on configuration, and flag any limitations specific to your provider.
When you get in touch, let us know:
- Which ERP you use
- Any integration platform (iPaaS) or middleware connecting your ERP to Shopify
- Whether your ERP pulls orders on payment, on hold release, on tag, or via Shopify Flow
We'll handle the rest, including reaching out to your ERP's support team if needed.
Common questions
Will Order Editing disrupt my ERP data?
No. When configured correctly, your ERP imports the edited order, not the original. Inventory, invoicing, and fulfilment all reflect the final order.
What if my ERP imports orders as soon as they're placed?
This is where delayed payment capture comes in. By holding payment until the editing window closes, your ERP only sees the order once edits are locked in.
Do I need to change anything on the ERP's side?
Sometimes. Some ERPs need a payment status filter set so they only import paid orders. We'll flag this when you reach out, and coordinate with your provider if needed.
What if my ERP isn't listed?
It may still work. Most ERPs that pull orders after payment is captured are compatible with Order Editing. Start a live chat and we'll confirm compatibility with your ERP directly.
