The Nosto Recommendations module shows product recommendations powered by Nosto. Use it when Nosto already controls product personalization or merchandising for your store.
When to use it
Use Nosto Recommendations when your Nosto setup has stronger recommendation data than a basic Shopify product source.
- You already use Nosto for product recommendations.
- You want best sellers or most viewed products from Nosto.
- You want related products based on Nosto logic.
- You want upsell recommendations to match the rest of your merchandising stack.
Before you begin
Connect the Nosto integration in Order Editing before using this module. If Nosto is not connected, the module shows a setup prompt instead of the normal save flow.
Setup steps
- Open the upsell strategy you want to edit.
- In the Product modules section, click Add Module.
- Select Nosto Recommendations.
- Choose the Recommendation Type: Best Sellers by purchases, Most Viewed Products, or Related Products.
- Set the Time Period in hours. The default is 168 hours.
- Set Maximum Products. Use a number from 1 to 20.
- Click Test Connection to confirm Nosto returns recommendations.
- Write Offer Text.
- Click Save.

When this is better than Shopify recommendations
Use Nosto when your store already trusts Nosto for merchandising or personalization. The module keeps upsell recommendations aligned with that system.
If Nosto is not actively maintained, start with Shopify-powered modules such as Collection, Related Products, or Complementary Products.
Recommended fallback
Add a Collection module after Nosto Recommendations. This gives the strategy a reliable product source if Nosto returns no products.
Troubleshooting
Nosto integration required appears
Complete the Nosto integration setup in Order Editing, then return to the strategy and add the module again.
Connected but no recommendations found
Change the recommendation type, increase the time period, or check that Nosto has recommendation data for your store.
Maximum Products shows an error
Use a value from 1 to 20.
