What the strategy records
Each strategy page can show two recent activity streams:
- Recent upsell sales groups paid upsell orders by day and shows the available customer, order, market, product, and amount details.
- Change history groups saved strategy changes and shows what changed, when it changed, and the available attribution.
Change history is kept for 120 days. It is an investigation record, not an automatic restore point.
Review recent changes
- Open Apps > Order Editing > Upsell Strategies.
- Open the strategy.
- Find Change history below the strategy editor.
- Expand a grouped change when it contains more than one recorded update.
- Select an entry to open its details.
- Review the plain-language change summary and affected fields.
- Open Show raw JSON diff only when the formatted detail is not enough.
The entry can identify a staff member, system workflow, or other available source. Some automated or older records do not have individual staff attribution.
Use the settings action on the Change history card to manage the related agency or organisation notification settings.
Open the full activity ledger
When the strategy has upsell sales, select View all sales on the Recent upsell sales card. The Strategy activity page opens with three filters:
- All interleaves sales and changes by time;
- Sales shows only paid upsell order activity;
- Changes shows only configuration history.
Select Load more sales or Load more changes independently. A failure in one stream can be reloaded without discarding the other stream.
The full ledger is useful when you need to answer whether a sale happened before or after a configuration change.
Read a change record
A recorded change can include:
- the event type and plain-language summary;
- the date and time in the store's configured time zone;
- the available actor or workflow attribution;
- fields that changed;
- previous and new values;
- a raw JSON diff for support or developer investigation.
Creation can have only a new state. Deletion can have only the final recorded state. Older or partial events can contain less detail.
Investigate an unexpected offer
- Record the order time, market, customer, and strategy expected to match.
- Open the strategy's Change history.
- Review changes immediately before and after the order.
- Check status, schedule, placements, markets, targeting, product modules, discounts, design, and advanced settings.
- When available, open Strategy activity > All to place the sale and changes on one timeline.
- Compare the history with the order's matching evidence and customer details.
Change history proves what was recorded on the strategy. It does not by itself prove that the strategy matched a particular shopper. Use order and matching evidence alongside it.
Recreate an earlier configuration
There is no restore button in the activity ledger.
- Open the historical entry that contains the desired values.
- Record the approved placement, market, targeting, products, offer, design, and advanced settings.
- Open the current strategy in another tab.
- Move it to Draft if the change should not reach customers immediately.
- Apply the approved values manually.
- Save and preview the strategy.
- Activate it only after testing.
A historical product, collection, market, segment, selling plan, or extension may no longer exist. Treat the record as evidence of the former configuration, not proof that it is valid today.
If an entry is missing
- Refresh after a recent save; history can take a short time to appear.
- Confirm the change is within the 120-day retention period.
- Load more changes on the activity page when available.
- Check that the strategy actually saved successfully.
- Contact support with the strategy ID, expected change time, and staff or workflow involved.
