Before you begin
- Open Apps > Order Editing > Upsells > Content blocks.
- Have a wide image ready in Shopify Files (JPG or PNG works best).
- Normal strategies show this block with product offers by default. Enable If there are no products, continue to show the content block for a supported offer-list block, or lock a content-block-only strategy to a Checkout Editor app block by strategy ID.
Why this template helps
Use Collection image when you want one strong visual to set the scene for the offer. It works well for seasonal campaigns, new collections, and gift guides. The image sits with your upsell products so shoppers see the story before they choose an add-on.
Create the block
- Select Create content block.
- Choose the Collection image template.
- Confirm or edit the internal Name.
- Under Image, select a file from Shopify Files.
- Adjust border, radius, and padding if you want the image flush or inset.
- Set Status to Active when customers should see it, or keep Draft while you edit.
- Set Display on to All Devices, Mobile, or Desktop.
- Save the block.
Alt text and links come from the Shopify file you pick. Use meaningful alt text when the image carries information.
Add it to a strategy
- Open an upsell strategy.
- Place the content block before or after the product offers, or inside a product-selection modal.
- Save the strategy.
Reuse the same block across strategies when the campaign creative is shared. Editing the block updates every strategy that uses it.
Preview the offer
- Open the strategy preview and confirm the image appears in the intended position.
- Switch between narrow and wide preview layouts if you limited Display on.
- Review the checkout editor preview for the target placement when you need to confirm layout on Thank You or Order Status.
