Before you begin
- Open Apps > Order Editing > Upsells > Content blocks.
- Know which payment methods your store accepts.
- Content blocks appear with a strategy's product offers. They do not run alone.
Why this template helps
Use Payment icons when you want shoppers to see the cards and wallets you accept next to an upsell offer. The block renders Shopify's branded payment logos in a row. You can add an optional label next to a method, for example Visa ending in 4242.
Create the block
- Select Create content block.
- Choose the Payment icons template.
- Confirm or edit the internal Name.
- Under Payment methods, choose each method from the list. The template starts with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Shop Pay.
- Optionally add a Label next to a method. Leave the label empty to show only the icon.
- Select Add payment method to include more methods, up to 10. Remove a method if you no longer need it. Keep at least one.
- Set Status to Active when customers should see it, or keep Draft while you edit.
- Set Display on to All Devices, Mobile, or Desktop.
- Save the block.
Icons without labels sit in one row. When any method has a label, each method appears as an icon plus text so shoppers can tell cards apart.
Add it to a strategy
- Open an upsell strategy.
- Place the content block near the offer, often after the products or in a product-selection modal.
- Save the strategy.
Reuse the same block across strategies when the accepted payment methods are shared. Editing the block updates every strategy that uses it.
Preview the offer
- Open the strategy preview and confirm the icons (and any labels) match the methods you selected.
- Switch between narrow and wide preview layouts if you limited Display on.
- Review the checkout editor preview for the target placement when you need to confirm layout on Thank You or Order Status.
