Answers to common questions about Order Editing billing, order volume pricing, free trials, Address Validation usage, and account access.
How does Order Editing billing work?
Order Editing is billed through Shopify. Your main subscription is based on your store's order volume, and charges appear on your Shopify bill.
Address Validation is billed separately as usage-based billing. You only pay for paid address verifications when you choose to use them.
How is my subscription price calculated?
Your subscription price is based on how many orders your store processes each month. Order Editing uses order volume brackets, starting at $99/month for stores with 0-1,500 monthly orders.
Your recommended bracket is based on your trailing 365-day order volume. You can see your current usage and recommended bracket from the App Pricing page in Order Editing.
ℹ️ Note: Stores with over 20,000 monthly orders should contact sales for pricing.
Which orders count toward my order volume?
Your order volume bracket is based on your store's Shopify order volume, not only the orders customers edit with Order Editing.
This keeps pricing tied to the size of your store and the amount of order activity Order Editing supports.
What if my order volume changes during the year?
Your recommended bracket is based on trailing 365-day order volume, so short seasonal spikes don't have to be handled manually every month.
If your business has grown, slowed down, or changed significantly, contact Order Editing support from inside the app. We'll help review your current recommendation.
What is included in my subscription?
Every subscription includes the core Order Editing product: self-service order edits, editing rules, order holds, app blocks, upsells, integrations, analytics, and onboarding support.
Some features depend on your Shopify plan. Checkout extensions require Shopify Plus, but post-purchase order editing works outside checkout.
Are upsells included?
Yes. Upsells are included with your Order Editing subscription.
Checkout Page upsells require Shopify Plus because they run inside Shopify checkout. Thank You Page upsells, Order Status Page upsells, and post-purchase upsells work outside checkout.
Do I need Shopify Plus?
You don't need Shopify Plus for the main post-purchase Order Editing experience.
You do need Shopify Plus for checkout extensions. This includes checkout line item editing, checkout address validation, and Checkout Page upsells.
Do you charge a percentage of edited order value or upsell revenue?
No. Order Editing does not take a percentage of edited order value, recovered revenue, upsell revenue, or customer changes.
Your main subscription is based on order volume. Address Validation is billed separately only when paid verifications run.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Your free trial length depends on your store's monthly order volume.
Monthly orders | Free trial |
0-1,500 monthly orders | 7 days |
1,500-5,000 monthly orders | 14 days |
5,000-10,000 monthly orders | 14 days |
10,000-20,000 monthly orders | 14 days |
Over 20,000 monthly orders | 14 days, contact sales |
Use the trial to install the app, configure your editing rules, test your app blocks, and confirm edited orders behave correctly before you go live.
Can I get help during my free trial?
Yes. Order Editing includes white glove onboarding support, so you don't have to launch alone.
We can help review your editing rules, app blocks, order holds, integrations, and fulfillment workflow before customers start using Order Editing.
Can I change my order volume bracket?
You can review your current usage and recommended order volume bracket from the App Pricing page in Order Editing.
If your store has grown, or if you think your recommended bracket looks wrong, contact Order Editing support from inside the app. We'll help review your order volume and billing setup.
What happens if I go over my order volume bracket?
The App Pricing page shows your current usage and recommended order volume bracket. If your order volume has increased, you may need to move into a higher bracket.
If the recommendation doesn't look right, contact Order Editing support from inside the app. We'll help review your order volume before you make changes.
How does Address Validation billing work?
Address Validation is separate from your main Order Editing subscription. Validation rules are free. Paid verifiers are billed per address verification based on the destination country.
You control Address Validation spend with a monthly usage cap. When the cap is reached, paid verifications pause automatically, but checkout and post-purchase order editing continue to work normally.
You can review usage, adjust your monthly cap, and change verifier settings from the Address Validation area in Order Editing.
Can I reduce Address Validation costs?
Yes. Address Validation includes several controls to help manage usage.
- Set a monthly usage cap
- Limit validations in one checkout with Max API calls per checkout
- Use smart caching so the same address isn't charged twice in the same checkout session
- Add verification conditions to control when paid checks run
- Use free validation rules before paid verifiers
What happens when I reach my Address Validation usage cap?
Paid verifications pause automatically when you reach your monthly usage cap. Checkout and post-purchase order editing continue to work normally.
You can increase your cap anytime from the Address Validation area in Order Editing to resume paid verifications.
When do subscription charges begin?
Subscription charges begin after your free trial ends. Charges are handled through Shopify billing and appear on your Shopify bill.
Where can I see invoices and billing history?
Order Editing charges appear on your Shopify bill. To view invoices and billing history, go to Shopify admin > Settings > Billing.
For Order Editing usage and your recommended order volume bracket, open the App Pricing page in Order Editing.
How do I update my payment method?
Order Editing billing is handled by Shopify, so payment methods are managed in Shopify.
Go to Shopify admin > Settings > Billing to update your store's billing details.
Are taxes included in the subscription price?
Taxes are handled by Shopify billing and may vary based on your store's billing location and tax settings.
Review your Shopify bill for the final charge amount, including any taxes Shopify applies.
Who should contact sales?
Contact sales if your store processes over 20,000 monthly orders.
You should also contact us if your launch needs extra planning, such as a complex fulfillment workflow, multiple warehouses, a 3PL, WMS, ERP, subscription app, or custom Shopify Flow setup.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can uninstall Order Editing from Shopify if you no longer want to use it.
If you're cancelling because something isn't working as expected, contact support first. We can usually help review the setup and recommend the cleanest next step.
What happens if I uninstall Order Editing?
When you uninstall Order Editing, customers will no longer see the editing option. Any orders that are currently in the editing window will be released for fulfillment.
Your configuration and settings are saved for 30 days. If you reinstall within that period, your setup can be restored.
Can I pause my subscription?
If you need to pause your Order Editing subscription, contact Order Editing support from inside the app. We'll review your account and help with the best option for your store.
Can I use Order Editing for free on a development store?
Yes. Development store access is $0/month and allows unlimited test orders. Use a development store to test your integrations, app blocks, and fulfillment workflow before going live.
Do I need a separate subscription for each Shopify store?
Yes. Order Editing is installed and billed per Shopify store.
If you manage multiple stores, each store has its own configuration, order volume bracket, billing, and Address Validation usage.
Can my agency or developer manage Order Editing on my behalf?
Yes. Agencies and developers with collaborator access to your Shopify store can install, configure, and manage Order Editing on your behalf.
They'll have access to the app's settings, integrations, analytics, and billing screens based on the permissions you've granted in Shopify.
